@Ronflaix i guess it does (and i didn't know about that) but if i have to fish your URL out from the whole-text of the dialog box i'm just going to groan even more and complain about it online!!
i love it when programs do this thing where they put a long url on a dialog without selectable text for me to copy. yeah sure let me just type that in letter by letter to see an unhelpful faq page written by the intern
my ibook g4 from 2005 is one of the best calibrated computer screens i own simply because there is a feature to adjust the colors by eye built into its operating system
i know every time you look for "how to calibrate my monitor's colors" everybody comes out the woodwork saying how you absolutely CAN NOT do that without a hundreds-of-pounds-cheap colorimeter device or whatever but like how come we can't have the subjective gamma adjustment screens like mac os x had in 2003
@clyde not sure how i would do a histogram very efficiently for this purpose but i can definitely add a label somewhere for how many colors are/aren't used from the palette

@jk it's really wild to me that the 90s Linux desktops looked so much more interesting and appealing and configurable and since then they have thrown away all that good will and trying to recapture any of that is a massive pain of setting up uncommon and often gotta-compile-it-yourself packages

this thing happens really often, but the latest one that happened to me this week was with desktop icons. after an update, the selection rectangle around them looks weird and different, and the icons are the wrong size, they're clipped so you can't see the icon fully or read the label. haven't attempted to fix it, will probably take at least an hour. it makes me feel like the computer isn't really mine. it belongs to a bunch of nerds who keep making weird mistakes. a kind of clumsy nerd cabal
@jk this update brings you a new customisation option to change the spacing between icons on your desktop but don't worry the next update will bring desktop icons that can be placed anywhere and remove the option to have them spaced a certain amount at all
