Also: It was so much fun to learn new old things. I never actually had any 1984–2004 Macs myself, ever, but in the process of writing I ended up using ResEdit, hacking some CDEVs, resurrecting some Mac OS 8.5 beta bits, and generally going deep on this platform I only admired from afar in Poland. (I even emulated Lisa on my machine for the first time!)

@greg AVR has kinda been superseded in the maker circles for ESP32s and Pi Picos, like other have said here i can vouch for the Pico being a joy to program for and having plenty of IO

i now have Stefan's basic running on the gizmo with full graphic capabilities of the monochrome 128x64 display and implemented a FatFSUSB driver so i can save files and transfer them to a computer
