@felix not unlike a battery i suppose, but they function a little differently from batteries
@felix !!!!!!!!! their basic function is to store energy (thus "capacitance" - energy storage capacity). this can get used in a lot of different ways in electronics, at my job they were used for voltage regulation/stabilization
