it's 2017 and everything looks so big an unwieldy in 1024x768

xubuntu is on the thinkpad now. i think tablet is very slightly off but i can't calibrate because it doesn't have wacom settings for that. let's see how krita works here

@vahnj i'm trying to get an older ubuntu version to work on this thinkpad because wayland still sucks and they're already pushing it onto us on the new ubuntu

i don't really know anything/anyone about twitch, the only regular stream i know is my own

ran a smart short test on the hard drive this thing came with, completed without errors, has about 5000 hours on it

really not bad

just feeling

super unmotivated and useless tonight, huh

is there a way to remove that from linux

ssh, desktop managers, everything that takes a password

it's infuriating

is there a non-psychological reason for linux to wait a second to tell you your password is wrong

@lizardsquid it doesn't have to be linux, i'll probably end up settling on either windows 10 or 7 by the end of the night because linux sucks

@wxcafe@social.wxcafe.net yeah i know it's an official variant

i don't know if i like gnome, i don't know if gnome is something i should like

@wxcafe@social.wxcafe.net if the drivers work as well as the ubuntu 17.10 liveusb i guess that'll work it's just an ugly os

@wxcafe@social.wxcafe.net @lizardsquid @er1n this thread has gotten overwhelming and i have muted it

can i just like.

can someone tell me what to put in the damn thinkpad if i want to use it for drawing and web browsing.

ubuntu 17 runs fine on it but the wacom drivers on the install are trash. the ones (which seem incomplete/non-existent? detects tablet settings doesn't detect stylus settings) on the liveusb work but i don't know how to revert the install to the liveusb mode.

until someone gives a better answer i'll be trying xubuntu 16

@lizardsquid @wxcafe@social.wxcafe.net @er1n but if you're not doing any coding just compiling other people's code in a more inconvenient way are you really learning about OSes or are you just learning how to put a kit together

@wxcafe@social.wxcafe.net @er1n oh. i guess that makes sense
