i've been wanting to make a dull software-only synth with atmegas for a while now cause i can't be bothered with analog electronics much

so i'm thinking older style diffuse green leds, because those look darker when not lit up?

and newer, clear leds are usually much too bright and might hurt to look at

but when the clear led is turned off it gives a cool look where you can see the substrate inside it?
