also please do not respond to this with non-python solutions or linking to a twitter bot solution. i'm not looking for a solution for the markov chain, i want to fetch all of my toots first

Show thread

so uh i want to make an ebooks bot

what's the easiest way to cache all of my toots in python? i know there's
"Mastodon.account_statuses()" but how do i travel the pagination until i download all of my toots? and how should i store them locally? has any of this already been solved and i should stop trying to reinvent the wheel?

mysql

@r4v5@octodon.social hmm i added it with nextcloud stopped and then started it?

but github.com/joyeusenoelle/simpl has command-line flags and the option to output to files now, and I updated the README to tell people how it actually works so they can use it if they want to.

mysql

@r4v5@octodon.social yeah it's set, but it doesn't seem to have improved performance :/ thank you anyway

mysql

@r4v5@octodon.social i mean i ran the client and set global there

how do i check if that worked

mysql

@r4v5@octodon.social i didn't install the mysql snap though, i installed the nextcloud snap. i can't find where mysql is installed at all. there is no mysql.client. there's /var/snap/nextcloud/current/mysql/auto.cnf but not a my.cnf. can i edit auto.cnf? is it the same? i've never used mysql before.

mysql

@r4v5@octodon.social erin@univac2 /v/s/n/4371> mysql
The program 'mysql' can be found in the following packages:
* mysql-client-core-5.7
* mariadb-client-core-10.0
Try: sudo apt install <selected package>

mysql

@r4v5@octodon.social i think that just sets it as a fish variable if i do it from the comand line i don't know what you mean by "connecting"

ok cool i think i have a corrupted file in my nextcloud that i can't delete and i have no idea how to fix it or where the files are in my server's hard drive

... the... STOP script exceeds 5s and crashes

I literally cannot stop a process running in my server because the script takes longer than 5s and gives up

fuck ubuntu snap

Show thread

trying to restart the nextcloud snap results in an error saying that the snap restart script for nextcloud exceeded the runtime of 5s that's hilarious thanks ubuntu

i hate linux sometimes

does anyone know how to change the settings in the mysqld packaged in the nextcloud ubuntu snap package or know where i can find that info since no google search seems to help me? i cannot find a config file for mysqld anywhere in my server (as far as it's concerned it doesn't even have mysql installed since it's bundled with nextcloud snap and not an actual installed program)

i want to set "innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit = 2" as per this forum post: forum.owncloud.org/viewtopic.p

@daggertooth@monsterpit.net no video attachment here, but there's a link to it on your instance

@sireebob@cybre.space @ajroach42 no i set it myself a long time ago and forgot it

it's still hitting low speeds for LAN though and i think that's because of mysqld but since i installed a snap package for nextcloud i have no idea where to set those settings

@sireebob@cybre.space uhh i don't have wireshark but tracing the domain returns the local ip as i set it up in the hosts file

@ajroach42 minecraft but no players atm...

... yikes yeah htop shows the cpu not having a good time

hrm.

@InspectorCaracal or home timeline fixed with no followers (unless that was already fixed)

@posit@chitter.xyz i think all my toots that aren't follower-only are free to boost. if someone boosts something i didn't want boosted that prob means i forgot to set post privacy and i'll delete it and post again

@ajroach42 hmm. still caps at ~4MB/s

wonder if there's a download cap on server now
