ok now i can't load anything anymore and i'm right next to the server

people who complain about mastodon performance should take a look at nextcloud

Show thread

i think it's working now?

skynet.mynameiser.in:8384/inde

but nextcloud is extremely slow to load fsr and i still need to set up https if at all possible

so is there a way to get nextcloud to play nice with not being in a LAN? it wants to use localhost for anyone i give a public link to

I've been kinda wanting a Commodore 64 for a while

Didn't think I'd ever add "more secure" to the list of reasons to get one

i wish i could have such a big internet presence over so many fields like eevee but that would require me actually making things

uhhh
it just dropped, y'all
three days into 2018 and we have a fucking massive exploitable hardware-level issue affecting both x86 (intel _and_ amd) and ARM processors

spectreattack.com/

so the problem was i used /user/bin/fish as a shell instead of /usr/bin/fish

so i had to take the laptop down from the 7ft-tall shelf it sits on to plug a usb thing in, boot into live cd and fix /etc/passwd, then put it back up there

and now it works again

Show thread

so uh what do i do when a server i have physical access to doesn't accept my password anymore

i think i somehow just lost ssh access to a server that's not 3 feet away from me

it's gonna be a long day

so my phone and my router solve maple.pet fine

but my desktop, even though i just booted it up an hour or so ago since yesterday, still solves it to the namesilo IPs

what the fuck

Turns out TempleOS isn't affected by the Intel bug

Which I'm sure is good news for all one people that use it
