Pet peeve: The way websites handle GBP in pulldown lists when you're trying to look at prices for things

It's listed as "British Pound", "Great British Pound", "Pounds Sterling", or any other number of things

Which makes it impossible to know where it's going to be in the list

@jessiscah24 mastodon users: "y'know, for the most part the community that's grown around pleroma isn't great"

pleroma users: "FUCK YOU MASTODON FUCK YOU WE'RE NOT ALL NAZIS GO FUCK YOURSELVES"

@squirrel you're the bestest best squobit there is!

Who's a lovely squobit? YOU ARE!

oh wait, help you, not them, whoops

@zeezeemoomoo ...could we make it a medieval battlefield with people running around in plate armour and archery and riding horses and carrying giant maces?

That sounds kinda cool

snark, food, violence

@alice@elekk.xyz huh... I've just realised I haven't met any crab people on here yet

squirrel people, shark people, octopus people, dragon people, snake people, cat people, but no crab people yet

@InspectorCaracal @noelle bad actors deliberately misunderstanding the concept leading to others not actually thinking about it and going "oh yeah, that's what free speech is"

@squirrel I'm imagining it would sell toys and clothes and cute things for your maple

Also lots of ICs for maple to snack on

And FTDI cables

The term "maple store" is bouncing around my head and I would totes buy everything at the maple store

@squirrel

death

@noelle “It is indeed, marvelous. An irony-free zone, where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. Where everybody, regardless of race, creed, color, or degree of inebriation is welcomed. Its warm, yellow glow a beacon of hope and salvation, inviting the hungry, the lost, the seriously hammered, to come inside. A place of safety, and nourishment. It never closes; it is always, always faithful — always there, for you.”

I hope he found his Waffle House

@squirrel the reviews of "it looks great! 5 stars! i haven't received it yet" are just as good

food

@squirrel did that pokemon themed cooking show get you to eat too much rare candy?

@twitter@mastodon.technology @Jo there's a bit of a difference between those things

"man steals aircraft carrier" would be even more awesome a story

Oh, also if you look at your smart watch while driving that counts under the same laws as using your phone while driving

businessinsider.com/apple-watc

Non-smart watches don't have that issue

Show thread

With the release of watchOS 5 the first version of the apple watch (including the $17,000 gold editions of it) is officially obsolete

They'll still function as is but they won't receive any updates and may not work with new phones

To all those people who spent $17,000 on a watch that's now obsolete rather than on a non-smart watch that'll last damn near forever, sucks to be you
