@lune@elekk.xyz "let's get a bunch of people
and put them all in trees
we'll kill them all for odin
and hope we don't fucking freeze

don't know where this is going
it's all turning slightly wrong
I don't know any norse
and I suck at writing songs"

Yeah, sure, there's no problem playing "baby it's cold outside" every christmas because "it was a product of its time" but if I go around singing "let's get a few people tied up in trees and sacrifice them to odin this midwinter solstice" which was an incredibly popular song at the time (if a lot more pithy in the original ancient norse) then I get chucked out of lidl

"baby it's cold outside"

@noelle "it was a product of its time" is an excuse for it existing then, it isn't an excuse for repeated radio play every year

@mavica cool, will do when I know

steam's saying delivery delays expected and that it'll be 6-8 working days to get to me, so might take a little while until that happens

@mavica right, I'll put the order in and find out the best way to get it in your paws

@mavica not entirely sure, don't know how big the package is (write your own jokes here) but probably under 20 quid?

quite possibly well under

@mavica £11.40 to me, then however much it is to send it your way, I'll do it if you want one

although showing "ease of setting things" next to a perpetual calendar is... an interesting decision

(perpetual calendars are massive pain in the arse to set)

@troubleMoney
Don't forget genderplasma at really high temperatures, oh and they might even become gendersuperfluid at an intermediate temperature between genderfluid and gendersolid (;*

:thaenkin: if you reduce the temperature of a genderfluid person do they at some point become a gendersolid?

if so, does this also imply that really hot genderfluid people become gendergas?

subtoot

@auravulpes ah, thought something might have broke

yeah, we're running an older version, but I don't recall us missing any particular security/privacy features... I'll have to double check that

@sydneyfalk wheeeeeehearsal: practising a play while also going down a water slide

subtoot

@auravulpes out of interest what was the "technical reason" they brought up?

'cause I don't think anyone's reported any recently

@mavica at this point I'm officially out of ideas then, sorry bun

@mavica huh... I wonder if some other backend is claiming that scanner then...

you could try commenting out every line in /etc/sane.d/dll.conf except for "plustek"

@mavica that bit I'm a bit hazy on to be honest

for a start if you set lOffonEnd to 1 it should turn the lamp off when it's finished

maybe the gamma settings might help?

all the options are described in the sane-plustek man page, if you set it to do all the calibrations it might help a bit?

@mavica hmm... all I can think of is a config problem, should be somewhere like /etc/sane.d/plustek.conf

@mavica hmm... you're using the sane-plustek backend for this right?
