I've been using taskwarrior as my to-do app for a while, it's pretty awesome

Also, completely CLI so I can put it on my phone (using termux) and use it from there or SSH in using whatever device I'm using at the time

All the terrible people tend to join instances with all the other terrible people on (because they usually get banned from the instances full of nice people) and then the entire instance can be blocked

Saves a lot of time and hassle

Far as I know there isn't any way to do it like facebook but various people are working on loads of different interfaces so there might be one that does it that way at some point

For the most part everyone just keeps the notifications column there

@synthgal honestly haven't used facebook for years so I'm not entirely sure what those look like these days

As is you'll find all your notifications in the third panel, or if you'd prefer mastodon to look like twitter then there's https://halcyon.social which is a different front end, you just log in with your username from here and it's mastodon but looks like twitter
