@shekkiesqueaks Bank of England is switching to new polymer £10 notes so the old papery ones are going out of circulation on the 1st

In order to make sure the old ones do go out of circulation they stop being "proper" money on the 1st which effectively means you can't buy things with them, you can still switch them for new ones after then by sending them to the Bank of England and they'll send back new ones

@noelle @BryanLunduke Is he still going on about the freeBSD no-rp'd-physical-contact-without-consent thing?

Ah crap, as a reminder to to all the Brits here, the old £10 notes stop being legal tender on the 1st of March so you'll want to spend/change them to the new notes before then

Looks like I'll have to make a trip up the bank

@squirrel we should totes have a bbs

A telnet one would be easier to set up but I kinda want to properly dial into one... anyone have a spare phone line?

@shekkiesqueaks everyone's eye immediately goes to the first number

So 5xxx looks one hell of a lot cheaper than 6xxx on first glance even if the whole numbers are 5999 and 6000 respectively

Hello! It's #FollowFriday/#FF, so I just wanted to remind you: don't just blindly follow the people for whom you get recommendations. Remember to fully read people's bios and pinned toots! They often have important information (like "don't follow me unless we've had some conversations first").

Any time we come back from going anywhere two of our cats, pita and meg, come running out to the car as if to say "what have you bought us? are they treats? they better be treats"
