@squirrel would be far from ideal but you could always try using two of them

@soft_chomps@glitch.social *looks up from their morse key* hm?

(I don't actually, but I totally would)

@squirrel I mean, even if it wasn't, you had a thing but needed a different thing, of course the way to go is to modify the thing you have into the thing you need

@squirrel but... you had a db25 and wanted a db23, why wouldn't you just cut it down?

Anything else would require going to the shops and/or waiting a while for a new part to be delivered (if it was available)

Any time @squirrel uses the cw "pda" I wonder if she's tagging a "public display of affection" or her being a "personal digital assistant"

@hfrazey I suppose the shopping cart thing isn't as much of an issue in the US

Over here people would just walk home with the cart and all their shopping in there then dump them wherever

Cost the supermarkets a lot of money in recovering the carts so they put the deposit things on them

I guess since there isn't as much walking home with shopping going on in the US that isn't as much of a problem

@hfrazey OH! Forgot those hadn't got everywhere yet

In the UK all supermarkets charge for bags and a lot of them have a coin-takey-deposit-thing on the carts

You just take in a bunch of reusable carrier bags and make sure you have a coin with you

@hfrazey are they used to "open all hours"-type shops where you tell the shopkeeper what you want and they give it to you or something?

@hfrazey ...too complicated?

It's a supermarket, you put the things you want to buy in a trolley, then you go and pay for the things

LB: @squirrel also has a patreon that she doesn't promote anywhere near as much as she could

It's at patreon.com/maple_syrup/overvi
