Here's a good demonstration of what I know of as a "hydro mod" for a watch

It consists of filling a watch with an oil to give you a wider viewing angle underwater (due to refractive index stuff that I don't really know enough about optics to understand) and increased water resistance

It's pretty cool, and not too difficult to do

Watch news: Baselworld has been "postponed"

cool new G-SHOCK release, a proper fitness tracking watch thingy!

The GBD-H1000 series

world.g-shock.com/asia-mea/en/

Has an optical heartbeat sensor, GPS/GLONASS/QZSS, altitude, barometric pressure, and compass

Also, most interestingly, solar assisted charging! The timekeeping and notification features will keep running just on solar, the GPS and heart tracking needs more juice so topping up the battery with the charger is advised after using that

A lot of the strategies about "keeping humanity safe from artificial intelligence" revolve around how humans can contain the AI and shut it off if it's deemed convenient

Maybe, y'know, don't lock it in a box and put a gun to its head so it has to act in self defence? That'd probably be a better idea?

I know if I woke up chained up and with someone ready to kill me I'd be pretty pissed off

jam or clotted cream on first on a scone?

second discourse; how do you pronounce scone?

During the floods some dude was messing around in this little one-person boat, 'course, this being england he got a bit chilly

He had the brilliant idea of putting a little gas heater at the front to keep his feet warm

sadly, it was a plastic boat, heater melted the plastic and the little boat sank

Just goes to show, you can't have your kayak and heat it
