Ooh, new Seiko releases!
Two new standard production watches, basically reincarnations of the Captain Willard
There was a limited edition release of something very similar last year but it's nice to see them in standard production (and at standard production prices, that limited edition was EXPENSIVE)
swiss observatories in 1967/8: you can't just waltz in here with a non-swiss made movement and win all our competitions for watch movement accuracy!
seiko: haha rock go brr
(the swiss stopped having competitions for watch accuracy after seiko wandered in with quartz movements and won fucking everything)
seriously, this thing is so incredibly complicated the fact that it has a tourbillon is at the bottom of the feature list
'cause of course it has a tourbillon
oh yeah, the easter complication? it's in both the julian and gregorian calendars, which gives two different possible dates
'cause at this point why the hell not
Technically I should be posting about this next week, but eh, close enough
This is the Konstantin Chaykin Moscow Comptus Easter Clock
This thing has 26 different indications on it, including the date of orthodox easter, starmap, analemma, and length of day
It's incredible
covid-19 silly, alc
I'd include a big disclaimer on why exactly not to take any of this toot seriously as medical advice but quite frankly if you've decided taking medical advice from an octopus on the internet is a good idea then you've got bigger problems that a disclaimer won't help
