i used to be a fediblockoid but seeing the way it gets weaponized against neurodivergent people and transfems has me realizing that this was entirely foreseeable. its intention was good but that kind of doesn’t matter as far as what should be done about it. what i think ive come to realize is the internet is supposed to be messy. not in that anything should go or we should federate with everyone, but that actually making things safe involves a much more complicated approach than fediblock allows.

does anyone have any remaining software/peripherals for the original Valiant Roamer LOGO turtles? Valiant themselves, being mostly direct suppliers to schools and not individuals, haven't been too helpful. we have one, but not the pen attachment, or the serial cable, and i'd like to put it to better use

imo @mavica_again could make a living just #writing about tech – #software and #hardware. i saw a series of Discord posts it made about Tec Toy (a South American toy & electronics company that basically bullied Sega and Nintendo into sweetheart deals in the 80s and 90s) and it was one million times more interesting than reading another white dude's blog post about maximizing productivity with Obsidian on the iPad or whatever. someone get it a #job posting more cool shit!
