OK, so we'll go with the Republican argument that guns aren't the problem, people are the problem.
Why do they want problem people to have guns?

Just a little reminder that here in Europe, we play the same exact video games as youth from the United States

We do not have (daily) school shootings however

Instead of blaming video games, start looking at the super easy to get weapons on each corner of street problem

Games are not the problem, weapons are πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

"This hypothetical separation of the person from the thing they created always rankles me a little bit β€” because I don't think marginalized creators, including trans creators, ever quite get that luxury."

I don't know if this will help anyone else, but I'll put it out there:
OTC sleep aids usually use an antihistamine, for the side-effect of making you drowsy. Not all are equal.
I go to sleep easily, but tend to wake up early - hours early. Doxylamine Succinate stays in your system longer, and will help you stay asleep. I buy 25mg tablets that break in half, so I'm getting 12-13mg, and that works for me.

But didn't great grandmother get married and stay married? Lived her life right! Not like the fast little girls we have today.

My great grandmother had 5 husbands. She married the first at 15. He was in his 40s and she was considered lucky since married to him they could not take the land she owned. (Rocky, hilly soil cut by a river in North Carolina)-- her first husband died of the flu and she got married again right away. She had to be married to exist.

She was a remarkable woman.

My sister reminded me that it’s the anniversary of my first book today! I published The Wolf’s Call on this day twelve years ago and it’s still going strong. Mind you, it’s free, which helps. πŸ˜€

It takes decades to learn to use the differences, and apply them when and where they're appropriate.
Hyperfocus is useful when I'm cranking something out on a deadline. Not as useful when I'm at home, watching TV, and the hubs wants to tell me something, but I don't even hear him.

The UK is very good at piling on politicians for gaffes, but oddly shit at piling on them for being cruel, destructive, avaricious bastards who are making everyone’s lives noticeably worse.

@Nickiquote

Because the media is owned / controlled by cruel, destructive, avaricious bastards who like making everyone's lives noticeably worse.

"Cadillac Lyriqs are starting to become a common sight on the road"

They're a very common sight in my garage. Best car I've ever bought. 😁

So... wait. The guy who has done everything he can to alienate his customer base is losing sales? How can that be?

Crazy. Highest prime age labor force participation rate in a generation. Too bad nobody wants to work and immigrants took all the jobs.

@james

I may have done the same, because I just don't talk about my special interests. I geek out on my own, and if someone asks I say something minimizing, and clearly designed to cut off more questions.
I have many folders on my personal laptop, filled with stuff, and I have boxes of things in my bedroom closet that pay tribute to former (and maybe future) interests.

Cookie got a clean bill of health from the vet, who saved her when she had a close shave last month! She said Cookie is doing really well, though her issues are still β€˜a ticking time bomb’. We are hoping we can manage them medically and keep her happy and comfy before that happens. I’m really glad to have extra time with her.

No, standing up to eat is a recipe for disaster. Sitting down, and where I have a sturdy flat place to put my plate / napkin / food container.
