@Porpentina2017 If Obama had stolen classified documents, stuck them in the bathroom, and refused to give them back, Republicans would be demanding the death penalty. No exaggeration: they would literally call it treason and unquestionably demand his execution.

Now then, where's that note from the missus reminding me to do something or other?

Whether you like Israel or not, there is no way, US politicians would come together and deliver this package without aid to Israel, simply because Israel is a strategically important ally.

What really matters is, Ukraine is getting an enormous allocation of resources now, on top of all the aid already provided from the UK, Norway Japan, and EU countries.

Russia has not been able to take Ukraine during the 6 months delay, and now really powerful weapons are coming to help Ukraine win.

Dear all restaurants:
Don’t send me cutesy texts like β€œWe miss you” or β€œWas it something we said?” We aren’t friends or dating, and those come across as creepy.

"Twitter was assigned 'Twitter' at birth. It can't just go around calling itself 'X' and expect everyone to just play humor this obvious insanity. What we're seeing here is the collapse of Western Civilization."

"I tried to enjoy this art piece about listening to the ambient noise but was rudely interrupted by the ambient noise" is a remarkable thing to have written down and published under your own name.

β€œAmerica must stand up for what is right”, says @potus Joe Biden, as he addresses the world after signing the military aid to Ukraine, and a 1 billion dollar humanitarian aid package for the civilians in Gaza.

And yet, despite the loss in profit and market share, despite his erratic behavior, despite his general fascism, he's being rewarded today with a bounce in stock price.

I go for a long, fast walk. Something that makes my breath faster and sweat break out. While I'm walking (no earbuds, music, anything else) my mind cranks through whatever is bothering me; replaying it, amending it, inserting what I wish I'd said, until I'm calmed down.

Growing up, Sesame Street taught me the importance of education, empathy, and kindness.

Bugs Bunny, on the other hand, taught me that revenge on my enemies should be quick, clever, and brutal.

Generally, but he's an inclusive author. The one I'm reading now has many characters, most of them aren't identified specifically by gender until you're well into their development, and two of them are identified as they/them.

New to Scalzi? If you're a Trekkie, read "Redshirts". It's a send-up that had me rolling on the floor. Right now I'm reading "Kaiju Preservation Society", also very funny. The "Old Man's War" series is what he's probably best known for - 6 books - but I'd hold that off for later. Fuzzy Nation is also good.

President Zelensky held a meeting with the Minister of Enterprise of Denmark, Morten Bedskow.

"Thank you to the government and people of Denmark for supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

We discussed the defense of Ukraine against Russian terror. We count on Denmark's help in finding additional air defense systems for the Mykolaiv region."
