@atinyfairy fair, but I bet a lot of the love comes from "man I remember playing it and having fun with it when it was new" and not having replayed it recently.
Nostalgia, no matter how old, is a hell of a drug.
In an ideal world Sega would just lay off all of Sonic Team and just get Whitehead and co to make Sonic Mania 2.
Hell, Sonic should just stick to 2D going forward, Sonic Team's had 18 years to try to to make Sonic work in 3D and they never got anywhere close to making a good game out of it.

@squirrel yo this is really cute????
teenage memories, sonic the hedgehog
Man I remember when I was really in this internet hellworld, joining a forum, and subsequently made a Sonic OC around the time SA2 was slowly being unveiled.
While I've replaced the Sonic OC with an actual character, the obsession/love with Sonic and Sonic-style characters will be with me til the day I die.
@squirrel yeah, there were parts of that game that put me off ever wanting to play it.
birdsite, glutton for punishment, gamers
I wanna stop dunking on gamers, especially since some of them just like to be blatantly racist and sexist.
Like, why debate them? Why try to dunk on them when being a toxic dipshit is just a metagame to them?
birdsite, glutton for punishment, gamers
Lately I noticed I pay attention too much to gamers being angry on Twitter about insignificant things like "feminism and SJWs ruining my vidya."
I mean, it's a good laugh, but these people being *so angry* at various things, or going on the defensive about racist memes...
It stops being funny and it starts being sad.
@troubleMoney the intent is my dad wants to like, put it out on the curb or something.
I think I might have to persuade him that nobody wants an 11-year-old PC.
(I don't want to keep it, but I'd rather just give it to a computer shop for parts or to Goodwill where they can just wipe it.)
why am I even listening to my dad?!
I'm the tech guy, he's the one that constantly thought his old slow computer and the internet taking a while to load pages where the same problem.
Bonus: It's a prebuilt HP machine so everything's jammed in there so tight that it's hard to remove the drive anyway.
All this because of vague paranoia that "someone might steal your info" or something garbage.
@squirrel thanx
