Today I learned about Jim Blashfield, the guy who did music videos for Talking Heads' "And She Was," Nu Shooz's "I Can't Wait" and Michael Jackson's "Leave Me Alone."

Very absurdist yet very eye-catching.

Worth looking into those videos, just for the surreal nature of them all.

that Stargate SG-1 show seems pretty neat

@TonicBH I meant to comment on this back when you posted it but forgot. The one that comes to mind for me is a version of Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) which has extra words in the chorus and, IMHO, actually scans better than what they went with.

It was only on one of the CD singles released in Europe, and I had to track that single down to be able to hear it again.

Realizing my legacy might be "the gal who found where Halo with Chips came from" and I don't know how to feel about this

uspol, though could apply to any politics really

As time goes on, I'm starting to think we should not be taking any policy advice from folks who host reality shows

Or anyone notably famous, really

I'm a millennial trans woman, but I swear that I sometimes have the music tastes of a Gen X'er who listens strictly to the classic rock radio station and doesn't listen to anything beyond 1993

New Patreon post: Here's some stuff I bought, 2024 (and half of 2025) edition.

It's also weird for me to go from "I have no idea what to write about" to "Oh I have too many ideas to write about and can't pick one at the moment :blobugh:"

Having that realization that I have written at least 4,000 words about stuff I've bought in the past year and a half, and wonder if anyone cares about that at all

I know they say not to care too much about reader metrics and whatnot, but sometimes I worry if this is a fruitless endeavor

"i asked grok" "I asked chatgpt" well I asked HAL and he refused to do my homework and locked me out of the spaceship

Wrote a bunch of words about stuff I bought over the past year and a half. Mostly the half year, but still

I don't know why, but I just... like writing words about why I bought something. Give a bit of knowledge of what I know about the product, the human element of writing, that sort of thing

for the record I don't mean a single episode, I mean the whole next season needs to be the Game Changer regulars getting payback on Sam by any means necessary

next season of game changer needs to have role reversal where Sam is always a contestant and someone else is the host who's here the whole time
