FreeBSD
FreeBSD is honestly one of the worst experiences I have *ever* had with an operating system. It only kinda works, I don't know how to do much compared to Arch Linux, and I can't use half the software I want to because it doesn't actually support FreeBSD.
BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Seriously, despite being one of the worst experiences I've had with an OS, it feels SO much better than GNU/Linux ever did. I don't know why, but I love this operating system.
@wigglytuffitout Well, if you haven't, your instinct of "This probably happened" is pretty damn good. I found a wolf, a tiger, and Stitch from just a (semi-)cursory search of FurAffinity

@lambdagrrl Can confirm; am southern US witch
Please, fucking talk to a single person who's worked retail before you speak for us and spread the propaganda that we're punished when other people shoplift
We're fucking not. That virtually never happens at any chain store, which are the only places you should be shoplifting from anyway
Please correct people when you hear this, it's getting so fucking old
@Shadejackrabbit Okay, I'll bite

WhatsApp end-to-end encryption is over.
There’s in-app infrastructure for filtering and capturing messages pre-encryption and post-decryption which makes the entire point of encryption moot.
Thank you Mark Zuckerberg for fucking up another thing. You are the worst. https://twitter.com/i0rek/status/1156182813571465216
Nothing says #latestagecapitalism like a racist grifter president criticising a city for it's landlords' failures to provide adequate living conditions when one of those landlords is his son-in-law all while using racist dog whistles because he thinks it's good politics.
FreeBSD
Okay, add to the cons list "Electrical interference is now a thing with my speakers. OSS picks up shit like my AC or oven switching on and off now and there's a constant static playing from my speakers."
@evie Howdy
FreeBSD
Pros:
- Such UNIX, much wow
- Reasonably straightforward ways of doing stuff
- Doesn't rely on the GNU userland
Cons:
- I don't know how to do anything
- My 360 controller doesn't work
- WHY IS SOUND SUDDENLY WORKING?! WHAT CHANGED?!
- Pretty much every bit of software written for a UNIX-like is written for Linux with the GNU userland, so even here I can't fucking escape it. IT'S EVERYWHERE!
- Why does moused even exist? I can't seem to use it in anything
