And rest assured that, while I did try to make the site look a little nicer, I did not go overboard with anything. It's still just about as slim as it used to be

Big(ish) news! I've updated my website! I've decided to do away with the HTML 4.01 Transitional compatibility in order to make use of stuff in HTML 5 that helps with accessibility. Hopefully it helps someone

I've also put out a new blog post, a follow-up of sorts to the new year's post I did last year:

If you clicked on a link & someone stole your account that's not hacking, that's phishing.

If you accidentally posted a secret key somewhere & someone stole your account that's not hacking, that's being careless.

"Getting hacked" became this catch-all bogeyman term & I hate it

Even though cars suck, I don't want to ban them completely – some critters need them, and they're also invaluable for things like hauling large or even semi-large objects around, anything that's too big to haul long distances comfortably.

But let's get people who /can/ use public transit on public transit when feasible. Clear up the roads for the times when people actually /need/ cars, and there'll probably be a lot less accidents.

Cars suck.

They would suck a lot less if they weren't The Default.

So apparently Humble Bundle decided that it would stop supporting macOS and Linux in two weeks, leaving two weeks for people to download their game for those platforms, not getting updates for them anymore, and also shutting down ability to download from the site, forcing you to go through their new Windows only launcher.

So I'll take this opportunity to make a casual reminder that there is nothing humble about humble bundle anymore.

Fun fact: my interest in collars started well before I actually got into collars. Years ago, I wanted to build a wearable haptic compass and I decided it would be a collar. A collar made out of EL tape, no less. I should really revive that whole idea. I actually have budget now, after all, as well as the skills needed.

I'll get back to y'all on that.

I found this slice of wood while on a bike ride earlier. I thought it was nifty, so I kept it. It is indeed, pretty nifty. I dropped it on the way to where I was going, but I was able to find it on the way back.

Reminder to fellow programmers:

Make computers conform to people.
Stop trying to make people conform to computers.

Make computers help people.
Stop following the trend of making computers harm people.

Delete-redrafted mostly because some idiot posted some awful shit in the replies. Yeesh.

@xerz Gee, it's almost like these sponsors do their damnedest to put their name in front of everyone and so they jumped at an easy opportunity to sponsor not one creator but a bunch all at once :blobthinking:

Starting to feel like there's a bipartisan pro-COVID-19 consensus

genitals

I love being outside and having a shouted conversation with my mother across the yard about how I have no plans for bottom surgery. No, really. That was kinda funny. Let the neighbors know I'm keeping my dick. Fuck 'em, the transphobes. Yeah, not only is your neighbor's daughter trans, but she's got a massive dick too!

The gender of the day is an aggravated angel in a drowned civilization.

@DarkWitchClaire The rest of the thread has probably answered the question, but yes. This line of criticism does extend to the SST cover.
