Nope, probably never gonna stop posting Tillie Walden's beautiful space panels.
In the end, we just walked into a local car paint service, picked a color from a huge catalog and 48 hours later had a shiny, metallic turqouise phone. For free.
Well, almost. They said they don’t want money but since they just opened up recently, they could use a good review – on Google Maps! 😬
Touché, #Alphabet.
Well, all the more reason to insist on basic hygiene standards at the daily dinner table:
“Did you wash your hands and turn off your #Android Runtime Layer?” Dig in, then!

Look at this beautiful blue Intex AquaFish running #SailfishOS my daughter got on #Christmas ✨
When it was clear that her first smartphone would be inevitable, we wanted to keep her out of #SurveillanceCapitalism and Walled Gardens for as long as possible.
The only problem: This very color-conscious person had made it clear she would have a hard time accepting an orange-colored device.
So what to do? Use edding markers? Graffiti spray paint?

Alan Moore's #Brexit Poem pretty much sums it up:
“I wrote this verse the moment that I heard/ the good news that we’d got our language back/ whence I, in a misjudged racial attack,/ kicked out French, German and Italian words/ and then I”

She taught me that you can be sharp and funny without having to be cold. And showed me there is a way to know people, to see into their hearts, down to the dirty ground, and still like them – that turning your back on humanity, as well-founded as it may be, is eventually a cop-out, the easy way out. And while that extra mile is so much harder, it‘s going to be an amazing trip.

But I am all the more thankful to have had her around me during very formative years. It left a deep impression on me when she finally left her secure job at a law firm for good in order to concentrate on the precarious life of a freelance comic connectrix.

She was a trailblazer, and a very kind one at that, even caring for the weirdest and angstiest nerds like myself.
The last years, I was always looking forward to having closer relations once my next book would be done. This will never happen now, and I am heartbroken 💙

I got to know Jutta during my intern years at the publishing company #Reprodukt around the turn of the millenium. She had just translated and published Debbie Drechsler‘s “Daddy‘s Girl”, and as much as I appreciated her work, I can only share her overt enthusiasm in hindsight when imagining what an utter oddity this must have been for the cis-bro fanboy comics scene of the nineties: a woman publishing the account of a female survivor of childhood sexual abuse.

Just came home from a mourning ceremony for Jutta Harms, who died shortly before Christmas.
#Comics people know her well, though most of you may not. At least in Germany, the recent, growing acceptance of comics as an art form as well as as a platform for feminist discourse is unthinkable without Jutta laying the groundwork since the early 90‘s, tirelessly translating, curating, shepherding artists and connecting the dots of local comic scenes dispersed all over Europe.

On December 31, 1995, Bill Watterson published the final 'Calvin & Hobbes' comic strip. For most of us, it was like watching our absolute best friend ever move to another continent! The hole in our hearts is still felt even now! https://t.co/i2ygP9RRPx
ukpol meets The Incredible Hulk
Yesterday, unelected PM Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson likened Britain to the Hulk, bound in EU shackles.
“Hulk always escaped, no matter how tightly bound in he seemed to be - and that is the case for this country. The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets”
(Further reading:
“Planet Hulk”, where Hulk gets launched into space because he is deemed too dangerous to stay on Earth at all, and its followup storyline, “World War Hulk”.)
