"big for watercolor" is a reference to the fact that most illustrators have a different idea of what a physically "big" art piece is than fine artists do, usually because of what medium(s) they work in

illustration majors: wow I JUST finished an 18x24 (inches) mixed media acrylic painting! it took a whole MONTH!

fine artist majors: (chuckling) I couldn't even FIT my last painting into my friends (pickup) TRUCK, I had a rent a Uhaul

..., I think it was supposed to be a study on painting fire? I remember having a classmate that was working on this HUGE (for watercolor) piece of a wildfire and I was pretty inspired by it...

found a really old 4x6 watercolor painting and I can't remember for the life of me which direction is supposed to be UP, let alone what it was supposed to be ABOUT...

today's a "singing (the 00's pop hit) 'Telephone' for the entire 30 min drive back from the real estate office" kinda day

I was talking to an offline friend about how my Father used to say,

"Repetition is the key to learning!"

instead of,

"Practice makes perfect"

because I'd argue every time (as a kid btw) that

"perfection wasn't a real thing we could actually achieve?"

so friend chimes in and says his parents only said something like,

"perfect practice makes perfect skills"

Implying there's a wrong way to learn things and I'm pretty sure that's how you make a grade-A anxiety mess

this less of a specific artist & more of a tragically unheard of digital watercolor program called Expresii (expresii.com)

it was originally developed for calligraphy, over the years it's been exanded to be just the BEST digital watercolor app/program there currently is on the market

cons are: it's Windows only, and it because it was made in Japanese first, the translated English menu might be confusing

the pros? endless!! AND IT'S GOSH DARN BEAUTIFUL!!!

I usually browse fanfic by tags, so I often come across fics that look like good reads, but I can't remember for the life of me who's who because it's such a rarepair

...and that's why I have several fandom's wiki character pages favorited on my browser, even though I'm familiar/caught up with all of them

July has been World Watercolor month and I feel like I haven't done a great job at exposing the medium to more people online

so I'm gonna start a thread here with some of my favorite watercolor artists (that aren't me)

we had our first big heat wave this weekend, and it was such a pain trying to sleep without an AC, but, then I remembered, this is part of OPM's training!!! I will become Stronger
