Doctor Who • Audio Dramas

@skelltan I'm not that far yet, but I can definitely understand not wanting to retread stuff you've already heard!

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas

@skelltan I'm hoping that the ordering that I've come up with would help with that kind of thing!

But I can't say for sure, because I'm still listening to the early stuff.

I've heard that some of their more recent stuff (from the past couple of years-ish) has been trying to be a bit more standalone, so you can listen without needing all the background context.

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas

I've spent most of today rewriting the recommendations for new listeners section, and now I'm slowly going through the guide and rewriting most of the text explaining the segments.

I *feel* like I'm improving things, but I don't know if I am actually improving things, or if I'm just enjoying shuffling words around.

petty annoyance at a specific word

The plural form just being "series" is the secret killer here.

I've had to rewrite sentences *so many times* because using the plural form made the sentence sound so utterly wrong.

petty annoyance at a specific word

I'm starting to get really annoyed with Big Finish for using the word "Series". Because it's really ambiguous and frustrating:

The sense of "series" in

"The fan-loved series, The Eighth Doctor Adventures"

is a different sense to

"The Eighth Doctor Adventures: Series 3"

is a different sense to

"Big Finish produces a number of different series"

it's horrible, because it makes it so hard to write about things.

Ella flopped onto her bed and, frowning, told her fairy friend, "The problem with Mike is that he's been my best friend forever, but now he acts insulted because I don't want to make out with him."
"I'm sure it'll turn out all right in the end." She seemed to be playing cat's cradle with invisible string. "You're destined for each other."
