@00dani while their terminology is definitely worse, "trans fem/masc" can still cause problems - I have a friend who is a trans woman, but she's super butch and embraces "masculine" traits, and she hates being called "trans fem", because she isn't feminine.

The mermaid howled from her rocky perch, lit by a full moon above.
She laughed at distant howls of response and howled again; each response growing closer until the werewolf pack appeared, and milled around the beach curiously. She waved, howling again. They all howled with her, tails wagging.
"Sister, you've changed!"
"I couldn't resist," she giggled, flexing her tail.
"What's it like?"
