"Bokmål (literally "book tongue") is an official written standard for the Norwegian language, alongside Nynorsk. Unlike for instance the Italian language, there is no nationwide standard or agreement on the pronunciation of Bokmål."
I can't believe there's a standard for a language.... that has no standard for the pronunciation of its own name

I'm really thinking mastodon.social should close new inscriptions for good.
Not because it's a bad instance, but because it's still used by too many people as the default entry point into the Fediverse. Also, with every now users, the human and financial cost of maintaining it keeps growing and it really takes a toll on the project's resources.

(I've heard it used as onomatopeia, and I think that's ok because you're just imitating a sound)
