@icefox@octodon.social arch is way too complex - you need to manually set up everything on the commandline and that's not what I'm looking for right now

@fzygal no as in... software that's up to date on my nixos computer is shockingly out of date on ubuntu

@fzygal even with the non-LTS stuff I've found packages that were 6 months to 2 years out of date

hey, are there any linux distros that are

* easy to install (as easy as mint or ubuntu)
* also keep their packages relatively up to date (unlike ubuntu)

@Vann@glitch.social I recommend nixos if you like spending hours coming up with a perfect config that you can then *really easily* transfer to other computers

Or mint if you want a fun, familiar and easy time
