that's not to say that godot is bad (maybe the documentation i've found so far is, though), but it's certainly not as beginner-friendly as i was led to believe

folks i am a low-level C and assembly developer and i'm struggling with this. i'm not sure how anyone thinks this is the "simple" way to make games

like sure yeah you don't have to build from the ground up but like, there's a reason why people use gamemaker instead

Show thread

not really sure how people think godot is easy with piecemeal tutorials that barely explain what a node structure of a simple scene even should look like and no i will not watch a video tutorial

computers need the same system and media volume sliders phones have. i want to listen to music loud, not be deafened by discord message noise

my sister got a full werewolf suit and has been gushing about it and i could not be happier for her

i was gunning to maybe get a playable whatever showing up on my ouya yet today but given i'm still compiling that 2.1.6 fork (which, hey, i'm glad i got it to start compiling) my estimate might still be a bit off

i have 2 picos and a YM2413 already, if i get a video chip i could probably make a prototype and kickstart it FUCK

not until i'm back home though

i'm so TEMPTED pls give me money so i can work on dumb ideas unbridled

free idea: make a neo-retro console/handheld using a rpi pico, a YMF FM chip and a video generator (like a TMS9918)

i'd love to make this myself but :effort:

currently downloading the source for this 2.1.6 fork and seeing what i can do with it

ground work research so far: there seems to already be a group of people who develop for ouya with godot so i'm not treading new ground, however because of the old android target requirement the latest godot version we can use is 2.1.4 (or apparently a 2.1.6 fork)
