So anyway, I'm a trans woman who makes cute and/or chill music in various trackers (ok, almost exclusively Renoise by now) because I grew up making chiptunes and then never bothered to learn how to handle a piano roll. I had some weirdo message me to let me know they were unfollowing me, citing the disparity between the number of people I follow vs those that follow me.
Here's the thing: I'm actively trying to spend less time on social media, and my compulsion to "complete" scrolling through new posts guarantees that I can only follow a few folks and still interact with them.
Not that I have to justify who I follow (or don’t follow), but that kind of shit reeks of purity mindset. Fuck that.
