@madewokherd oh, although, for the record Fuji golf which is a 16bit 3.x game (i think drawn in winG?) works beautifully in wine

@madewokherd i did manage to get peggle deluxe working but only at half playable speeds after i disabled opengl for gdi instead

haven't found any 32mb vram era d3d games i wanted to try yet

@madewokherd i expect early 2000s win 98 games to be 32 bit, don't think much after 3.x was 16bit

is there a way to make thunderbird not notify me three times for the same one email? (one in "inbox", one in "all mail", one in "important" where everything seems to end up regardless)

@lafp oh yeah, just whatever works at multiple sizes and looks pixel-perfect. windows 98 could do it, i'm surprised linux (today) can't

so much for making old hardware usable again! (big fonts on 1024x768 are a pain)

@lafp ohh these are cool!

i think what i mean by "bitmap fonts" though is more "ttf that has pixel hinting so i can use it without antialiasing" - something that modern linux seems to no longer support or care about (if i try to force antialiasing off everything looks broken regardless of if the font has proper hinting)

turns out one of the hardest problems isn't p=np it's setting which fonts gtk apps use when you're not on a gnome desktop

@funguy2playwith so, "do you know where i can find the library?" "i enjoy that you are asking a question!" is a normal conversation to you. got it
