i just don't really get much of it when i need it the most

and it still makes me feel incompetent

this makes me feel even worse when i see people doing solo projects all the time which is super very common here on mastodon

i taught myself basic from quickbasic docs alone at age 11

i wrote a whole game with it once on the sega genesis using basiegaxorz

now i can't do anything of value or substance on my own

i feel like i can't do anything without someone holding my paw and guiding me through it

somehow i haven't always been like this or somehow it's selective, because i did plenty of stuff by myself around 14-16 years old

now i don't do anything unless someone walks me through it or at the very least accompanies me while i do it and i wish i could fix that because i feel so utterly useless because of it

@lizardsquid i rly like being able to get the whole project folder in my face with the tree view and stuff

it helps me remember where everything is

and the autocompleting (especially for css) is v. good

to clarify i don't want MATE to not dim my screen, i do

but i want it to go back to the setting i manually put it at when i move my mouse again

and not what its default is

2038 will be the year of the linux desktop just you wait

why why why is MATE not saving what backlight setting i want

and i don't mean across boots i mean across it dimming the backlight for inactivity

which is every few minutes

i'd love some help??? does anyone know what a linux desktop is because at this point i don't think it's a thing anyone has expertise in

i might just go with telnet since it's easier

oo we have to develop a multi-threaded internet server (not necessarily http) for distributed systems class

(but i think i'll do http cause it might be fun to get a webpage to show up from it)

(but that might be a lot lot to implement hrmgmhm)

yes it's bad that it takes a ton of ram

but i think it's a good editor ui/ux-wise
