saw a rather nice looking Rolex GMT Master II (16710BLRO) for sale in a local jewellers

if anyone happens to want to give me about 10 grand or so to buy it I'm sure I wouldn't complain too much...

Guy's also got videos on how to use a watch as a compass (youtube.com/watch?v=PWCxsk0hZR) and how to use a watch/clock/timing instrumenty thing to work out your longitude (youtube.com/watch?v=V3a_04ZyRJ) which are really cool

Ever looked at a Navitimer or other watch with a pilot's bezel and wondered how anyone uses that funky thing?

Here's how you use the funky thing: youtube.com/watch?v=RuK_77DEUf

Also the Seiko manual for their watches with pilot's bezels is pretty good: storage.seikowatches.com/produ

@mavica ah right, if the channels are fine it's deffo the plastic on top

can't think of a way to fix that off-hand

well, unless you very carefully paint the top leaving gaps where you want the light to come through but that'd be a massive faff

@mavica yeah, it's probably mostly that but I know some of the cheaper 7 segment displays have some bleed on them

@mavica depends on if the fuzziness is due to the display or the plastic in front I think, putting an opaque sheet with cutouts in between might help a bit?

@mavica ooh, cool

I've always thought LED displays on watches should make more of a comeback

@LaserScheme taskwarrior

it's a command line program but it's really quite neat for things like that

@mavica @taweret @benhamill@cybre.space I'm done

stop the universe I want to get off
