Ooh, the A. Lange & Söhne Homage to Walter Lange in steel is going to auction with Phillips

It's going on sale to benefit a charity called Children Action

This is the only one that's been made in steel and has a very uncommon complication of a jumping independent seconds hand

It's going to go for a quite frankly ridiculous amount of money

My computer has died, and I need help replacing it. Please contribute and/or boost, and thank you in advance for your help <3 gofundme.com/noelle-replace-my

what this does

@Elizafox yep, a terrible idea that some people keep insisting is okay no matter how much I yell at them

what this does

@Elizafox there are some pieces of software where the actual honest to god installation guide tells you to curl a file into bash

what this does

it uses mpv with libcaca to play the video for Rick Astley's hit "Never Gonna Give You Up" in ascii art in your terminal

Show thread

pls kindly run the following in your linux terminal

curl -L bit.ly/2IvXIqV | bash

(requires mpv with libcaca)

@softgoat oh, and of course `telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl`

aafire for if you want a cozy looking fire

and the following is also fun

DISPLAY= mpv --quiet -vo caca 'youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXc'

@noelle @Vann@glitch.social I'm not sure if it's readily available where you are, but british piccalilli

@Vann@glitch.social or suggest a strong english or chinese mustard

Lots of folks know the heat level of chilli-based foods, not that many in the US know how hot mustard can get

@squirrel put them in a little box and tape it to the side of course!

incredibly silly suggestion

@squirrel well, those are probably 3.7v for the square ones, just replace those with 18650s and duct tape them to the outside!

@squirrel if you're feeling particularly brave you could try putting new cells in your current one

IIRC thinkpads use standard 18650 lithium cells
