@maple oh cool, didn't know it did that, I was expecting some mess of spreadsheets or something

@maple are you going by who's paying in more than $5 a month or by who's in the tier

'cause if it's the former I might be one of them but you've already made me a lovely octopus tiny

@Jo it would

it would mean they couldn't come up with anything believable as propaganda

us brits being the most civil online I ask you

canadians coming top I might believe, but us?!

@maple us brits should be way lower on that list, we're all snarky gits

@maple entine!

which totally sounds like a pokemon now I think about it like that

turpentine, the solvent pokemon

@pup_hime it's 'cause the banks are closed, as opposed to other holidays when they're open

"damn cheap aldi tools"

"...pretty sure the rust has more to do with it not working than the build quality"

@maple ooh, good question

closest thing I can think of at the moment are those blind spot mirrors you can get for car side mirrors, but they're about 50mm diameter

@mplouffe@scholar.social it's got a screwed bezel and is a bit bigger now but yeah, it is mostly the same for the past 100 years

@maple yay! I expect to see selfies! and many other pictures!

@maple if you found yourself using the instax I can certainly see you using the mavica what with pictures not costing the earth for film and being more easily shareable

@maple hmm, yeah, that is the issue really, same problem I have with polaroid cameras

if you had a camera with you do you think you'd end up taking more photos of stuff?

think it's probably best to think about it as "would I get enough use out of a standalone camera to warrant it"

@maple I'm being supportive!

quite possibly not in the right direction but it's support!

@maple would you like me to talk you into it or talk you out of it?

they are super cool

you don't need a floppy disk-based camera

🦔 !

this one's living in the hedgehog house I made earlier this year!

Here's the world's first pilot's watch

Made by Louis Cartier for his friend Alberto Santos-Dumont, who was also the first person to fly a plane without wind- or hill-assisted bullshit

It's also credited with being one of the timepieces that first popularised wristwatches for men, previously the wristwatch was classed as a feminine piece of jewellery with men wearing pocket watches
