for a fun time get non-brits to try to pronounce "Loughborough"

BASE jumpers

@gdkar oh god, I know this is going to get lewd in like, 30 seconds

there's a gold coin that the canadian mint makes called the "gold maple" and any time I hear about it (which admittedly isn't often) I just think of a special shiny chassis @mavica gets out for special occasions

@mavica oh yeah, those'd be ideal, those usually come with instructions as well IIRC

@mavica I've heard blazers are hard but there are a bunch of youtube videos that would give you the rough order of operations

it's basically just "cut out the right shapes of fabric" then "sew the bits together"

if you can find something you like the cut of and roughly fits in a charity shop or something you can disassemble it and use the pattern for making it with fabric you like, either that or there's a load of places online that'll sell you patterns

@mavica the only person to bite their thumb at six eighty two and live

@tedric I wonder if "whomst x?" is a valid answer format for jeopardy

still surprised that all these right wing conspiracy nuts still haven't worked out that the "deep state" is us octopuses

I mean come on, "deep" state? We made it really obvious

@cypnk don't know if you've seen this yet but this might be of interest to you, 18th century log cabin construction

@Anke broadly it's applying theory to the real world, most contexts it's specifically putting marxist political theory into practice
