It is/was a thing where if you were a student and your school/college/university was part of it you could get a load of microsoft OSes and dev software for free

i don't understand what lvm is other than an option i didn't pick when installing because i didn't know it had to do with snapshotting

@squirrel there's rsnapshot and snapper which do that

Haven't used them myself and don't know much about them though
