Q: β€œHow many devs on a message board does it take to screw in a light bulb?”

A: β€œWhy are you trying to do that?”

now that I actually know how to follow people on other instances from this thing, i may or may not be using this account for more things. i dunno, this fragmentation kinda sucks

We *need* standard protocols like ActivityPub, but ultimately, users do not want a protocol. People do not want a formless ball of infinite potential. They want "Products". They want a clearly presented thing that they can put into their web browser or phone and it slots them into a legible user flow satisfying a specific user story. This is not because they are brainwashed by capitalism. It is because most people *have other shit to do* and don't want to bother with software that's unfinished.

If your phone does not dial correctly, shake it violently and try again.

@TonicBH I'll recommend No Such Thing As A Fish, it's run by the people who do fact checking for the British show QI and the whole point is they swap weird facts and spend 40 minutes BS'ing with each other about them.

@maple I understand it's bizarre, I mean, it was pretty bizarre to me when I first drew it, too! Just figured it'd be fun and interesting, I'll accept it no matter what comes out :amicheck:

@maple Hey, I'm interested in the pixel portrait slot, using my original toaster avatar. I'd be interested in seeing your take on it. How do I sign up?

Have a jolly head-banging British golfer for your weekend.

A reminder to engage in self care. No matter how hard things are, you deserve to love yourself.

There is a man on my bus carefully reading handwritten notes in a composition notebook. Nearly every single word on every page is highlighted.

Is it time for me to once again fail to make a concentrated effort to use Mastodon more often? I don't know. Here's a screen of what solitaire looks like with 32 decks, thanks to solitaire.gg

@lizardsquid I'd say there's no shame in leaving for that reason. We socially-anxious types can tend to feel overwhelmed when a chat box is moving too fast, in a similar way to being in a physical room jammed full of people.

In an effort to find more things to post on here: this might just be Card Game Hell. Nothing but Crazy Eights and the soothing dulcet tones of...Gilbert Gottfried. computerfairi.es/media/4raLz_U

I sort of wonder if the people that design these games really care about the games or if they're just out to put the most ridiculous product packaging they can in the toy aisle. computerfairi.es/media/YGCh-Rz
