so apparently 8chan just got search warranted in relation to the san diego synagogue shooting
the FBI is also going hard after facebook groups that encouraged/abetted the shooter as well
i hope they straight-up waltz in there, take the servers, and then spend the next 6 months handing out charges like halloween candy.

They were meant for the radio rooms in ships, the first 3 minutes of every quarter hour are highlighted in red because during those minutes ships are (were? I don't know current high seas radio procedures) meant to maintain radio silence and listen out for distress signals

Gargron has officially denied the winning option in the poll and announced that he is refusing to implement it anyway, before closing any and all discussion on the pull request.
Mostly because he does not want it, but as well, based on a combination of two options on the poll that aren't the same adding up to 47% or "half".
Please stop using vanilla Mastodon, he's making quite clear that this is his project and his project alone, and the community wants do not matter to him.

the thing is, I think everyone has that sinking off-balance feeling that the weather is going wrong in subtle ways that we can't pin down but can feel in the patterns
and it's climate change
there's other shit going on but it's climate change
and some reputable news outlet is out there talking about someone who's blaming traffic circles as if this is newsworthy as anything bigger than an example of the intensity of that anxiety
maybe the article itself is better than the preview but I don't even ... I can't deal with that
