It's the same basic reasoning why, even though I've liked some managers I've had in the past, it's important to remember that they're still representatives of the company and will put the company first. @scarly agreed. And a lot of it has to do with the funding models for universities. They have to perform in some way to get the funding they need. And the way they perform to get the funding is by presenting numbers that look good, so they end up with "subjective" evaluations of learning that may not be practical or even reflect reality for the students.
