today's #techsupport patient: "sfc /scannow" -> "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service"

A quick look in services.msc showed half the services, nearly all of them microsoft services, disabled. (i guess they should be automatic? they're not well documented, & that seemed to work.)

@SuperCee@plush.city they're not even aware of the curation bias clouding their judgement:

they compare a curated list of music then (good music they remember) to an uncurated list of music now, the furthest thing from a fair comparison, so of course music from then is "better."

also, the inspiration for my entry is a pangram shorter than the fox test.

@monorail in addition to all the other great replies, it makes playing lego with sockets easier, especially if you want to do soldered-to-socketed ic repairs later on.

i decided to try my hand at strawberry jam* this year. my entry will be a twine game, and it's giving me a renewed appreciation for the effort that goes into writing good furry smut.
