@wigglytuffitout That last point can't be emphasized enough. **IT'S HAPPENING NOW**. People got all up in arms about the racist webcam years ago, but what they don't realize is that that racist webcam's cousin is now making important decisions in areas like the court system or the housing system. And it's not much better about not being racist. If anything, it might just be a bit worse.

@maple I mean, a not-insignificant number of English-language developers still use ASCII. The only difference is that, back when the Unicode Consortium was formed, we USAians decided we were so important that the first 128 codepoints should just be ASCII, any other possible choice for how to arrange Unicode be damned. Because why should *we* have to reencode *our* documents? No, no, no. We'll leave that for the *rest* of the world to do.

There was also a lifehacker article from 2010 which basically goes "just buy a mirror and glue it on." It specifically mention hardware store inspection mirrors. It's not the best looking thing and probably not what you're looking for, but it's an option, I guess.
