So, I finally fixed my audio issues. Turns out, it has to do with an issue in the kernel that apparently only affects a couple of Dell laptops. A couple hours of recompiling later, though, and it's fixed! The static is gone!

FreeBSD Complain #52:
Why in the fucking worlds does ports insist on reinstalling shit from scratch? Like, I have lang/ruby24 installed. WHY IS IT TRYING TO REINSTALL IT FROM SOURCE?! All I wanted to do was compile Vim with the Motif toolkit. Why are you reinstalling ruby from source?

I need to fuckin' let it go. The more rational part of me knows nothing was meant by it. But gods fucking damn it. It's so damn hard when all I can do is keep coming back to it.

That computer ain't learning from some pure, neutral set. It's not like trying to teach it to recognize the number three. It's learning from our shittiness. The computer can't tell right from wrong, so if you feed it all the wrong of the past centuries, without feeding it *massive* corrections...

@wigglytuffitout That last point can't be emphasized enough. **IT'S HAPPENING NOW**. People got all up in arms about the racist webcam years ago, but what they don't realize is that that racist webcam's cousin is now making important decisions in areas like the court system or the housing system. And it's not much better about not being racist. If anything, it might just be a bit worse.
