@quirk at least i get to see way less ads for nitro and reminded that if i don't pay for a substandard service i'm a second class citizen compared to all my peers with colourful animated profiles showing off their money
@davidhmccoy probably net mood positive might've been closer
@davidhmccoy i'm bad at wording because i just booted up but i meant people have been mean online since Usenet
the internet has not for a second been a net positive place but i think we really lost the last shred of empathy with microblogging
@SteelWool sorry you didn't live my life i guess
@quirk all i remember is Skype holding days long calls with my partners and discord still not attaining the same uptime especially on mobile
@delightfuldude @drwho not keen on throwing away all the work i already put in it
by the way have you tried Windows 10? audio drivers work great first time every time
@drwho i'd use something else if i686/pentium4 hadn't been dropped from pretty much all apt-based distros
another #linux puzzle gripe: i have notifications/x11-bell running through libcanberra by way of module libpipewire-module-x11-bell. the first notification/bell will always play through pc speaker, but second onwards correctly only uses the audio. i want to not unload module pcspkr. what is causing the first occurrence to fumble? "rmmod pcspkr" is the wrong answer.
