@maple the very coolest of nerds who probably knows where to find all the best microcode

Dog Purist: "They're not a greyhound they're a whippet"
Dog Neutral: "Our dog is big and cute and I love them"
Dog Anarchist: "Hey check out this weird dog *holds up a skink*"

@maple missed opportunity not going for "take, earl grey, hot"

hedgehog update!

yesterday I saw a small sign of hedgehog activity!

they're not due out of hibernation yet and I haven't seen any further sign of them today so current thinking is that it was a little hedgie that got disturbed when next door had a telco engineer out and decided to move house for the rest of their snooze

they do that sometimes

or just move house mid snooze for no reason at all

octopus is covered in sawdust from doing the first bit of making a new workbench

nothing fancy, just shelves and worktop, but physically the largest thing I've ever made

@evie I have the opposite problem in the wrist department, I have teeny tiny wrists so finding watch straps that suit me is harder

Also it means that stuff from Panerai will never, ever look anything other than ridiculous on me

@a_breakin_glass @Jo @catoutofbed@octodon.social *glances at the keyboard bin*

maybe a little called out there

Was filling in the Gender Census ( smartsurvey.co.uk/s/gendercens ) and realised I just don't like titles

Not even a non-binary thing of most titles not fitting in my case, just don't like them

Like, maybe "comrade" if you absolutely must but titles in general give me a sort of "yes sir, yes sir, three bags full sir" vibe

The sixth annual international Gender Census 2019 is now open until 25th March!

smartsurvey.co.uk/s/gendercens

It's for anyone whose genders (or lack thereof) aren't described by the M/F binary. It's short and easy, and the results are useful in academia, business, and self-advocacy.

At the risk of resurrecting my previous toot on the matter which ended up killing my notifications for a solid week, the new 1TB microSD cards just announced by SanDisk and Micron would mean that IPoverTrebuchet now supports packets of 225 petabytes
