anecdotal "engagement metrics"

Here's something I've noticed

On average, I'm getting between 60 and 80 notifications per day from mastodon which includes favs, boosts, replies, and mentions

That's with something in the region of 90 followers

Compared to when I was on birdsite I had about the same number of followers, and 60 to 80 notifications might happen in a week, more likely two weeks

No idea if that actually means anything, but it's something I've noticed

@lizardsquid there's still a big difference between helping your uncle Jack off a horse, and helping your uncle jack off a horse

brexit moaning

@BatElite that and complete denial of reality, yes

@sireebob@cybre.space do you have ffmpeg and gstreamer-libav installed?

What does about:support say?

Do you have Plex Media Server installed?

@squirrel okay, yeah, that'll feel really embarrassing but it's really easily done and happens to all of us

@squirrel take five minutes, grab a cup of tea/coffee, just step away from it for a little while

That'll help more than anything else right now

@squirrel sorry to be the bearer of more bad news, but now if I click on someone's name then all the usual stuff shows in the third panel (bio, then posts) but it pops up a 500 error and doesn't display following/you are followed by

@squirrel just so I understand the problem, all the ruby code is as it should be right?

and both the "follows" and "follow_requests" tables have a column called "show_reblogs" which is non-nullable and default true right?

@Elizafox would only need a small change after the apocalypse

Switch it to the Board of Immortans and you can get straight to hoarding water, gasoline, and guns

@Elizafox they literally couldn't have come up with a more pompous name for themselves

Bloody "immortals"

@squirrel @InspectorCaracal oh! I thought the ruby thought they were there but they weren't in the db

@InspectorCaracal @squirrel for that commit it just added a column to two tables so you might be able to just add those manually

@squirrel no idea if that helps, but that's probably where I'd start looking if I knew what I was doing
