There's one major problem with the "What is Mastodon?" video

It doesn't feature the true mascot of mastodon, @squirrel

Until my gear gets a couple of scratches and/or dings it just doesn't really feel like it's mine, it feels like I'm borrowing it or something

Ah, my watch has a couple of tiny almost impossible to see scratches on the AR coating on the crystal now

I can consider it properly mine now!

Took the best part of 9 months for even that to appear on it and I've been wearing it pretty much every day, Sinn watches are really hard as nails

Just remembered something that I'm slightly sad isn't still as much of a thing, sampler albums

Used to be that a music label (typically the small indie type) would put out an album with a song or two from all of their artists on

Was a great way to find new bands

New G-Shock Rangeman

GPS with MUTHAFUKIN SOLAR ASSISTED CHARGING

The solar charging doesn't keep up with the power drain of the GPS, but it'll let you use the that bit for an hour after 4 hours of charging in 50,000 lux (50% direct sunlight)

The solar does however keep all other functions running including the altimeter, barometer, and compass

Okay, this is hella cool

All British passports after Brexit will be manufactured by a Franco-Dutch company because the bid from a UK firm wasn't good enough

According to Omega, the new helium escape valve in the latest Diver 300m Seamasters can now be operated while the watch is submerged in water

I have precisely no idea why anyone would want to do that and there are very few people who have any use at all for a helium escape valve but I suppose it's a thing you can do now

Marvel: "Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover in history"
Me:

Few nice releases from Sinn this year, nothing that particularly sets my world on fire though

Not sure if I should be disappointed or relieved that I don't have to sell a kidney
