Smash bros

Anyone else watching Smash Summit rn? This bracket stage has been INSANE.

Finally have my laptop up and running again after a really silly partition disaster. It wasn't a difficult fix, but itnwaa frustrating to work on because...

A) going in, I didn't know how Linux organizes disk space.

B) I caused the problem myself.

@TonicBH yessss. Traveling is honestly so fulfilling. Just being in a new place is an inspiration.

CW thoughts, here I go

My TL has become significantly cluttered with non-CW'd content that really could use it. I rarely ever *need* a content warning to protect myself, but damn that was one of my favorite parts when I joined up a year ago.

There's something really nice about a curated, self-aware TL. CWs as a general habit require you (or me at least) to stop for a moment and consider what you're putting out for others to read, and that has no downsides imo. That's just good human praxis.

I saw one of my favorite bands tonight live at a house show and I got to sing along and mosh and I could die right now and be happy.

so uh yeah things are hard. Sometimes things are very good. hold paws

Today is already good because I'm actually catching my biweekly writers group meeting live, rather than a recording a day later.

Health concerns

@dragonmagic I haven't really, no. I guess I'll bring it up with my doctor.

One very real possibility is that this is an effect of my second puberty. I'm hormonally a teenager, so it makes sense (to me at least) that I'd need more sleep.

Thank you everyone who boosted or replied to my question about a duolingo type app for computer languages.

SoloLearn is exactly what I'm looking for! I've already started using it to brush up on HTML. I plan on doing all of the web related languages. I'll keep y'all updated on my progress.

Health concerns

It's not like I'm pushing myself to do extreme stuff on the active days. Some walking (less than 3 miles), some skating, yoga. I always make sure to stretch before and after.

Like, I thought with consistent physical activity, I was supposed to get better at it?

Health concerns

Any time I live the kind of activity filled life I'd like to live for a couple days in a row, my body is punished for it. I spend the next 3 or 4 days recovering: sleeping 10 hours, sore, low energy.

It's really frustrating, and I don't know how to work with my body to make these recovery times less severe.

We just released our new collaborative #music album, "Everything Is Made Of Smaller Parts"!

16 of us musicians on Mastodon banded together to create music in randomly assigned pairs and the results are beautiful and span many genres.

You can listen and download the 11 songs for free - if you decide to pay, the money is split between the artists, one share goes to Mastodon development.

I hope you enjoy the music and have a fabulous Sunday!

@ajroach42 I love this idea, though I have no skills to help bring it into to existence.

archiveofourown.org exists, and is great in a lot of ways, but not really what you're proposing here.

@Fritillaria2 oooooh yes, this can be a big problem for me at times. I've never associated it with my adhd, though that makes sense.

Usually, if I'm going to do something, I MUST do it in a very specific way, or it feels like it's not worth it at all. I tell myself my rules are the "best" way to do the thing, ie most efficient or whatever, but I am so obsessive abt them...

As a result, it's hard for me to adapt and "roll with the punches," so to speak.

Is there a resource like duolingo, but for programming languages?
