Mental health (neg)

Things I have had to do since getting home with my new bike: Google how to deal with coming down of ecstasy in the hopes of dealing with my now-depleted serotonin reserves

@maple Pinup girls, 2000s Mac hardware, motorcycles and Che Guevara is a mood. I'm not sure what kinda mood, but it's a hell of a mood

@auravulpes if anyone's mad it's because they're enbyous they didn't think of it first.

I would like to sincerely apologize for this joke. Not because it's offensive or anything. Just because it's bad.

Unless it's not bad, in which case, I rescind my apology.

My new bicycle is non-binary.

It's an enbicycle.

Sweaty foxgirl celebrates

Holy shit, peeps. I just walked *an hour and a half* across Arlington just to buy a new bike. I have never been so happy to see a Target in my life, and that's including the time I got lost and struggled to find the exact same Target. I am drenched in sweat, probably lost at least 5 lbs., but I fuckin' did it. :blobcheer:

the whole thing reads as outrage marketing to me. to the uninformed, that's the tactic of purposefully being outrageous, then rescinding it with a public apology so consumers feel like purchasing that product is positive reinforcement for the company. why give them the time of day and press coverage when they've made it clear that their views haven't changed and that the whole "0 tolerance policy" and donation to an lgbt rights organization is just a PR act

@shagoli Unfortunately, I'm inclined to agree with you on this. $10000 to an lgbt rights org. and a "zero tolerance policy" (that afaict we haven't even seen) don't really mean much to me nowadays precisely because of how easy it is to use it as a magic "make the bad PR go away" pill

FreeBSD

So, I finally fixed my audio issues. Turns out, it has to do with an issue in the kernel that apparently only affects a couple of Dell laptops. A couple hours of recompiling later, though, and it's fixed! The static is gone!

tfw you forget you're literally *compiling a kernel*

Wait a second! I was compiling the FreeBSD kernel earlier, wasn't I? How's that going?

Giving up car ownership

Pros:
- HEALTHY!
- Save money on fuel and maintenance
- IDK, feel more in touch with the world?

Cons:
- Have to already be in decent shape
- Car drivers hate you on the roads
- Pedestrians hate you on the sidewalk
- Cities won't give you bike lanes
- SWEAT
- Seriously, you're gonna spend all the money you're saving on deodorant because you live in an area that regularly experiences highs of ~40°C during summer :blobonfire:

@melaninpony "All New Hitachi Magic Wand, now with Alexa built-in!"

worldbuilding, dvakiiri

@azushark It certainly looks interesting! I'd be curious to see where it goes with its grammar. I'm certainly curious on that phonology and what (from the look of the alphabet) it allows and doesn't allow.
