@squirrel I try to force myself to go to things like this, because I realise:

* If I don't go, I'll probably regret it and think about the possibilities
* If I do go, I'll either have a good time (ya), a mediocre time (the same as what I'd have at home), or a terrible time (oh no...)

so really what I'm choosing is: garunteed regret vs posibility of enjoying yourself
