Why I'm putting my base on a mushroom island:

* It's pretty
* I can build above ground without walls or excessive lighting (no mobs except Mooshrooms and villagers can spawn here, so it's safe)
* There are mooshrooms, which I can milk for mushroom soup, so I have basically infinite soup

woops I spent 7 hours faffing around

Most of which was spent trying to find a mushroom island, but I did! I'm going to set up my main base here

I've been meaning to try out Immersive Engineering for a while now – it's one of the major mods that I've NEVER played, but it seems like my kind of thing.

And I managed to just happen upon this modpack: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/automaton

which not only includes Immersive Engineering and a bunch of related mods, but also a quest system (which helps you figure out how to progress)

The desire to start my own discord server is getting stronger...
